Try This Time

It's like every girl needs protection
Every girl needs a plan
Every girl needs a support group
And... Every girl needs a man

Maybe it's just me
But, I'm still tryin to check those off my list
With open palms, no closed fists
I will dance my way, away from this

I give everything to You Lord

You know part of me is glad I realized early on that my dad isn't who he should be. Don't get me wrong--it still hurts. But now I can be free to turn my gaze from men...to God. It's all about Him anyway and He is fine to destroy every idol in our life just to get us to turn to Him.

He'll do it. He'll destroy everything-every job, every dream, every man, every plan. Til you are forced to go home, to go back to your real Daddy who has always been there.

I read this today: "When Israel and Judah found themselves in danger, they sought the protection of the Assyrians, but this only helped to make their wound the worse. They would be forced to apply to God. He will bring them home to himself, by afflictions."

It's a Bible commentary by Matthew Henry. God will bring you home to Himself, by afflictions if necessary. I am sorry it has to hurt and be confusing sometimes. But you are on your way home, my dear. You are on your way. And no man and no plan will get you there one second sooner.

Love you.
